PAGLIACCI
An Opera by Ruggero Leoncavallo

Hightlights by Dina Soresi Winter

A Company of Clowns arrives in a village in Calabria. The people of the town are excitedly looking forward to a wonderful evening of entertainment, "Un grande spettacolo a ventitré ore!" cries the head Clown, Canio. Everyone responds with enthusiasm that they will be there. Nedda is the young wife of Canio whose jealousy is legendary. She is tired of this life of roaming like a gypsy.
The life of clowns is what is depicted in this extraordinary tale which ends in tragedy.
Based on a true story, this strange tale will turn you inside out. The music is beautiful, the story is powerful. Dina Soresi Winter, former opera singer, well known for her knowledgeable and moving presentations of opera, will prepare you for one of the most overwhelming of all operatic experiences. An evening you will not easily forget.

Join us for an evening of culture and gathering.
